Managing Climate Resilience
Managing Climate Resilience Business Game is a highly interactive training for smallholder farmers, emerging farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs who are experiencing climate change and want to increase the resilience of their businesses.
Malawi
In November 2023, a newly developed Managing Climate Resilience Business Game was introduced in Malawi which focuses on raising awareness of climate change and its adaptation measures among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The participants during the training came from LUANAR, NACRO, Financial Educators from Reserve Bank of Malawi, Youth for Inclusive and Sustainable Development (YFIASD) and Liwonde Community Development Training Center.
Currently, the MCR Business Game is being implemented by Youth for Inclusive and Sustainable Development and Liwonde Community Development Training Center targeting MSMEs and farmer groups. From the participants' feedback, attending MCR training helped them know how various activities they carry whilst doing their farming activities affect the environment. Furthermore, the participants highlighted that selecting drought tolerant crops is one of the lessons from the simulation that can help them to manage the challenge of low rainfall that the region is currently facing.
